Antrim Castle Gardens Wedding
The Venue
Located in Antrim, Clotworthy House is a historical landmark with dream-like gardens. Clotworthy house is steeped in heritage and culture. The art exhibition rooms give character and creativity to an already imaginative setting. The fairytale-like feeling you get from the 17th-century gardens provides an experience unlike any other.
The Couple
Samantha & Ace were married at Clockworthy house in March 2020. It was in fact my last wedding before the lockdown happened. Sad times!
The couple had told me that they were opting for a themed wedding and that it would be a 1920’s Gatsby theme. This was a first for me, I hadn’t previously shot a themed wedding so I was loving the idea of something really different.
I made my way to Samantha’s home in Randalstown in the morning time. There she was getting ready with her little daughter, Sailor. Her bridesmaids were also there to ensure everything was running smoothly. I photographed the morning time and managed to get some photos of Sam in her gorgeous wedding dress.
The Wedding
Once I had the morning preparation completed I made my way to Clotworthy House to meet up with the groom, Ace. There he was looking historically dapper and ready to get married. I took a few photographs of Ace and his groomsmen out of the venue moments before Sam arrived with her bridesmaids.
Their elegant civil ceremony soon took place and everyone in attendance looked really well. There was a lot of effort put in by everyone to dress for the wedding theme.
Portrait Session
Once the wedding was completed I took the bridal party to the Antrim castle gates for a few photos. At this moment the rain decided to pour down but it didn’t dampen the couple’s spirits so I managed to get a couple of shots and retreated for cover momentarily.
A few moments later the rain has calmed down a bit and it was now just the 3 of us. I decided not to venture too far around the grounds as it was still raining a considerable bit. I took the bride and groom the long pond in the gardens followed by the steps that have the surrounding trees.
We wrapped the session at the castle gardens and made our way across the road Rococo Antrim where the evening reception was being held. From there, the guys said their speeches and really enjoyed themselves the rest of the night. It was such a lovely day to be a part of.
